Taylor Swift, in full Taylor Alison Swift (born December 13th, 1989 West Reading Pennsylvania U.S.) American pop and country musician and singer whose stories of heartbreak in the early years achieved wide fame in the early 21st century. Swift began to show an enthusiasm for the industry of music in the early years of her life. The trajectory of her career was rapid starting with children's roles through her first public appearance in front of thousands. Swift was eleven years old when she performed The Star-Spangled Banner at a Philadelphia 76ers basketball game. Following that, she began writing songs, and also picked up the guitar. Taking her inspiration from musicians from the country genre like Shania Twain and the Dixie Chicks (now the Chicks) Swift crafted original lyrics that expressed her feelings of tween alienation. When she was 13 Swift's parents decided to sell their property in Pennsylvania and moved towards Hendersonville Tennessee so she could concentrate more time interacting with country artists near Nashville.
